Nixon's Problems with North Korea

Postby notlaw99 on Thu Jul 01, 2010 12:45 am

On April 15, 1969 North Korea shot down an Air Force EC-121. On June 23, 2010 the National Security Archive released 16 documents of US intentions against North Korea as a result of the Incident. Here is the link:

My recommendation is to go strait to "Read the Documents" and read the 16 PDF Files as I have found the analysis to be generally leftist. Be sure to read hand written notations on the documents.

I liked Gen. Wheeler recommendation to use SAC assets in Document 4

The North Korean Problem Has Not Gone Away It Is Like A Festering Boil On You Butt That Isn't Going Away Until It Is Lanced.

Thanks for the heads up; I'll check these when I have time.

Regarding North Korea, I have suspected for some time that (1) they are a paper tiger militarily; and (2) the regime will collapse as soon as they enter an actual armed conflict.

Check out their military airfields on Google Earth. No navaids; no support buildings; none of the support equipment typically scattered around active aerodromes worldwide; and no skid marks on the runways. So I think all those MIGs parked row upon row either cannot fly, or are fake.

You can pull down an excellent kmz for North Korea, including military, for Google Earth here:

The reason you don't see activity at North Korean airfields is that most of them have underground hangars and maintenance facilities.
