Target and Alignment Team 321st Grand Forks 1965 to 1968

Hi Guys,

I spent 65 thru 68 at GFAFB which I thought was the hummingbird state but only mosquitoes. Spent a lot of time at the alignment columns fighting mosquitoes or wading through snow to get the targets set up.
Lots of funny things happened while at GF but also some memorable ones. Spent five days in a crew cab pickup at the gate of a site because we tryed to beat a blizzard but got caught after exiting and setting security.
Think that was the blizzard of 66 or 67.
I am trying to find information on the "A" Plug. Specifically the weight of this thing and the diameter.
I am also looking for pictures of "setting up" such as unloading eqpt. Lowering eqpt. into personell shaft, and other pictures that may be available.
I am trying to locate some of the people that was in Targeting and Alignment teams at Grand Forks while I was there.
Looking for John Whiteside, Steve Epstein, Earl Thoms, Sgt Bruce, Terry Bilger, Gerald Busnick, and others in 321st BMAT.

Favorite thing overheard in a supermarket in Grand Forks... "hope summer comes on a weekend this year"

Larry,
The A-plug / A-circuit weighs "approximately 166lbs." Never figured out why the brain trust did't just say 160lbs or 170lbs. Thought the approximately 166lbs was a pretty close estimation.

Thanks for the info, JD. I remember it was a "back breaker" to lift out because of being recessed.

I fell once lowering eqpt into the personell access shaft. Had on safety belt but only latched on one side.
Frost formed on the ring and I went head first into the shaft, belt caught me after about 3 feet but it caught me
on the side I was secured to.
Still paying dearly for that incident. Didnt have a change of fatigue pants either.
