Hello all.
Boy it is great to see all the old heads from Minot on here. I retired out in 95 with the drawdown. I was Chief of the Command Post at Grand Forks. Hope you all are doing well.

Bob, I arrived at the 742nd in '84, and remember meeting you. I retired in "97 and stayed in Dayton, OH. All of these names bring back a lot of memories.

Hey there Russ!

In spite of the opinions of the four most recent physicians I've met, I'm still alive. Good news! My (USAF) psychiatrist states that I am, officially, NOT INSANE!! They did decide -- after twenty-nine years -- that I do suffer from combat stress. --something to do with out-of-body experiences in strange, underground places. --and 2005, a very bad year.

Oh well, torrents under the bridge! I sort of stumbled onto this site. --nice to see old names like you and Greg Stock floating through the posts.

You are one of the ones that we had lost sight of. I have been trying to track both you and JY Allen down just to say Hi.

Greg Stock sits about 20 feet away from me here at AFOTEC; we are both contractors livin' the good life (ha-ha). Jim Gottschalk is up in C.Springs working for AF Space Cmd.

What the heck have you been up to? I think we all lost sight of you when you went and did the GLCM thing. I will send you a private message with my contact info.

I remember Russ..........he gave me my first check when Chuck Acree upgraded in the 742nd. Acree transitioned to B-52s and I lost track of him (although he was in the same SOS class I was in early 1987). I lost track of Mike Spinelli. Mark Cleeremans stayed at our house several years ago. I think he still lives in Boulder. I still see Dan Nyberg and Chris Widseth now and then. Tony Cotton, who lived in the same apartment building I did in Minot, is now a vice wing commander, I think at Malmstrom.

Dave, how are you? I talked to R.D. a few months ago. He landed at WPAFB for awhile before retiring and moving to Minnesota. Not sure if he's left yet or not...keep meaning to meet him for dinner but I haven't taken a day off in over two months...retirement keeps me busy. Where are you these days and where did life take you after Minot?

I went from Minot to the Pentagon (Legislative Liaison), then to Cheyenne Mountain (I was trying to get out of missiles, and they merged the damn career fields!), from there to Ft. Leavenworth for the Army version of Air Command and Staff, then to the Pentagon again in the NMCC, then back to Minot in the 740th, and finally at Offutt at USSTRATCOM, where I remain as a contractor.

You might have missed this post, but Rick Caylor is trying to find some lost souls from his days at Minot. When I first got to Minot, Caylor and Cleeremans were known as the cavalier crew, so when I got there, under the picture of Rick Caylor, it said "Home Town: Cavalier, ND":


Okay this is very surreal. My name is Rick Caylor. I was at Minot from 1980 til 1983. I played rubgy with Jack Holt, Tom Cullen (just a couple of times, he wasn't much into it), Marty Potash, Doug Bachelor and Marc Cleeremans. I saw Marc in Denver, where I lived from 1993 til 1998. He worked at a company called Valley Labs as a quality manager. I now live in San Jose, CA.
I was wondering if anyone knew how I could get in touch with the aforementioned group of guys or anyone of the following:

Hey Tony - did you find Marty? I always felt bad about popping him in the nose before pre-d when he jumped out of the 740th office in a freight mask at me. He had his brand new DMCCC (can't remember his name) lock him in with the old 4 number combo lock. I rolled the combo and opened the door, he jumps out, I pop him, blood all over the place. What about Tom Kelly, Tommy "Spanky" Garret, Tom Sadowski, Mick O'Shea?

I recently found Frank Kahren, although I don't think he was really lost. Ernie Rosado, and Mike McPhail. I have also found Tom Toploski and Steve Argo

Were you out for the Feb 80' actual prep message? I kept the SACCS hardcopy if you want one - I scanned it.

Where is Tom Topolski? I am in contact with Tom Cullen and Dave Cramer as well.

My wife was doing the planning for a cruise in 2009 and had some people over that were on the same cruise. I was talking to this guy for a while and we started talking about the Air Force. He stated that he was in missiles in Minot. It was Pat Grieco. He had real long hair . Looked like Howard Hughes.

My wife and I met Steve Argo and his wife in Boston last month. They were in town for a conference. Almost 30 years later it was like 30 minutes - unbelievable.

Hope all is well - the rain finally stopped here in Connecticut - thank God.
