I forget where I was with y'all.

For general discussion about almost anything missiles. Come on in, pull up a chair and let's talk about any missile related matters and missile news not covered in other forums.

I forget where I was with y'all.

Ok.

So, I've made a promise to a number of Missileers that I'd do another Missile. Hell, I made a promise that I'd do ALL of them!

But, figuring out which one makes more sense (and cents), which do you think would be more popular: Atlas or Peacekeeper?

Not that you care, but I've learned to approach Missiles versus Airplanes like approaching a Bullsnake versus a Rattlesnake (don't ask how I know).

A bullsnake is like an airplane—the research is aggressive, challenging, but predictable. In other words, I know the work at-hand and understand that I'll have a tussle-with-the-facts but after a while, it'll tame down and I'll get it right.

A rattlesnake is like a missile—it stops, I stop. It gets frustrating and I can't move until someone else comes along and helps.

So, for everyone here who says, Atlas! or Peacekeeper! recognize that I'm really asking for HELP. Photos, documentation, (a commitment to buy a print?) and sharing a story or two because I don't want to produce something only to find out that it was wrong.

Regardless, y'all know that it's been a real pleasure to get to know your community and play a (small) role in getting y'all the attention you deserve. Again, you allow me the rarified cred to announce to whomever I'm speaking to that, "I know some of the folk who manned the greatest weapon never used."

How about the first child Atlas. First flight 17-Dec-1957 and last launch 21-Jan-2015 fifty-eight years 600 + launches and still flying.

I'd go with Atlas, but can't say what model, based on numbers: More Atlas squadrons (one PK squadron); Twice as many topics (38/19); almost as many posts (146/150); last posts Jan '15/Oct '13. PK did have a much longer run, so there may be a rough equivalence between them for crew and maintainer numbers.
