Missileers -

My name is John Mollison - I've had a bit of engagement with your community as an artist and writer.

However, I also produce a show call "Old Guys and Their Airplanes."

Recently, we were at Vandenberg with MG Robert Parker to produce an episode on his/your service.

The trailer is at:
https://vimeo.com/207833037

If you think it's worth your muster, please pass it onto Missileers and anyone else who you think should think about what you all do/did more often. :)

I see John has beat me to the punch about his new video. What is really nice is that John is not just looking at the past concerning the Minuteman, through the eyes of General Parker, but will be interviewing several crew members at Minot next month for a "status update", as it were, of where the Crew member is today. I was able to preview the "rough cut" of the footage he already has, and General Parker reiterates everything we already know, in a way that is informed and informing. I still believe that too many people still don't understand what we (Missileers) do, or more importantly what the reaming Minuteman missiles can, or cannot do. This film will help greatly. I too am anxious to see the final cut. I know it will do us all proud. There were several entities who made this film possible: AAFM, SACAM, and Boeing. It of course is the people at each of these places who put their trust in John, and provided the support financially and otherwise. Without each of them, this endeavor would have come to naught. If you like what you see, when this film is released, send a nice not to John. I am sure he will be happy to pass it on to those whose support was generously give.

It is very difficult to find any references to the 394th ICBMTMS in any official USAF or other webpages or archives. I was in EMT there from 1978 thru 1980. Our CO Was Col Payne. Any clues where anything but a patch for the 394th ICBMTMS can be found? We have disappeared.

In warning to North Korea, U.S. releases video of overnight Minuteman III ICBM launch
https://www.intellihub.com/in-warning-t ... bm-launch/
As reported on Tuesday evening, overnight the US Air Force conducted a test launch of an unarmed Minuteman III ICBM from Vanderberg Air Force base near Lompoc in California, in what was a clear signal of nuclear deterrence aimed squarely at North Korea.

Col John Moss, 30th Space Wing commander, who oversaw the launch of the long range missile, said that “Team V is once again ready to work with Air Force Global Strike Command to successfully launch another Minuteman III missile. These Minuteman launches are essential to verify the status of our national nuclear force and to demonstrate our national nuclear capabilities. We are proud of our long history in partnering with the men and women of the 576th Flight Test Squadron to execute these missions for the nation.”

As Vanderberg confirmed overnight, the missile launch was conducted as planned, and was successful, with the ICBM travelling approximately four thousand two hundred miles to a test range near the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

We understand. And we have your back. Carry on.
